Are you a Christian parent who takes their faith seriously? Do you worry about your kids keeping their faith in a world that is becoming increasingly hostile to Christianity? In addition to prayer, don’t you wish there was something more you could do about it?
You are not alone. Other Christians are worried too. And for good reason. For a Christian parent, the idea of their kids losing their faith is a terrifying thought. In a way, leaving the faith can be a fate worse than death. In fact, the absolute biggest fear of any serious Christian parent is that their child will leave their faith when they get older.
So for parents who take their faith seriously, making sure their kids keep their faith is a TOP PRIORITY.
If you feel the same way, then I need to warn you about some very BAD NEWS.
In fact a number of studies have shown that 60-90% of Christian kids lose their faith in college. (For just one example, see the 2006 Barna study entitled; "Most Twenty somethings Put Christianity on the Shelf.")
It happens all the time. That’s what the numbers say, and the numbers don’t lie.
One big reason why is because the environment at most colleges in the United States and Europe is EXTREMELY HOSTILE TO CHRISTIAN BELIEF.
This really shouldn't be much of a surprise, since THE TYPICAL COLLEGE IS FULL OF EDUCATED LIBERALS WHO LOATH WESTERN CULTURE AND DESPISE CHRISTIANITY.
College campuses are a hotbed of intellectual hostility towards Christianity. Christians cannot go into this environment unprepared! "Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that is in you." (1 Pet 3:15)
These people LOVE to teach things that directly or indirectly UNDERMINE THE CHRISTIAN WORLDVIEW.
This is the honest truth, and that's why Christian parents who naively send their untrained kids off to college, expecting them to come out with their faith intact, are actually flirting with disaster. In fact...
